I didn't think there could be anything more exciting than The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, but there is. We toured the REAL SET of all the Harry Potter movies! I can die happily now, it was even better than I thought it would be. Harry Potter may or may not have been one of the reasons I chose to study abroad in London...
She was going for "Terrifyingly Excited".
Daniel, Rupert and Emma!
The cupboard under the stairs!
Before opening the doors to the Great Hall, the tour guide asked for a volunteer to help her open them. Naturally I pushed small children out of the way and volunteered. It was magical.
Daniel's real robes he wore in the films! My favorite are his baby robes on the left.
Robert Pattinson's costume from his BEST and most important role, Cedric Diggory.
Tom Felton's robes on the left!
Snape, Snape, Severus Snape. Alan Rickman's real robes.
Harry, Hermione, Krum, and Cho's costumes for the Yule Ball!
Bellatrix's wig. Speaks for itself.
Snape, Snape. Severus Snape's wig.
The make up mirror that all of the cast members sat in front of for the 10 years of filming. Amazing.
Fleur Delacour's costume.
Ron Weasly's bunk!
Just hanging out, seeing our greatest desires in the real Mirror of Erised.
Gryffindor common room! And Daniel Emma and Rupert's clothes from the third film.
The Invisibility Cloak!
Just hangin' out in front of Dumbledore's Office.
The Tri Wizard Cup and the Golden Egg!
The Last Diadem.
The Remembrall, the Time-Turner, the first Snitch. I died.
THE SORCERERS STONE
The door to the Chamber of Secrets.
The Malfoy's costumes for the final film.
Voldemort, Voldemort, oooh Voldy Voldy Voldy VOLDEMORT!
"Magic is Might"Ministry Statue
The real London currency.
The Ministry of Magic!
The costumes of everyone's least favorite character.
Throwin' back a few Butterbeer's flying our car back to Hogwarts.
Lupin's Werewolf form from the 3rd film... terrifying.
Sirius in animagus dog form!
The model they used for Dobby's death scene :(
The most real-looking creature. Amazing.
One of the coolest things on the set for sure. Before any scenes are put into production, professional artists create portraits of what the scenes will look like. This is one artists depiction of what Dumbledore's funeral scene would have been like. I wish this would have made it to the film!
The scale model of Hogwarts they use for all of the long distance shots!
One of my favorite quotes.
Just to clarify, EVERYTHING on the set were the real props, sets and costumes they used in the film. Nothing was rebuilt or recreated. BEST. DAY. EVER.
